MCP overview
The IFC7 MCP server exposes interface lifecycle operations to LLM agents over Streamable HTTP. It runs alongside the REST API.

Send a Cognito access token on every request:

Authorization: Bearer <access_token>Cookie-based browser sessions are not supported for MCP clients.
The easiest way to get a token is ifc login (device flow). See Setup.
Agent + human workflow
- Agents should create revisions (drafts) via
create_revision. - Releases require MCP elicitation: the client prompts a human before publishing.
- Revisions record the authenticated user as author, so teammates see agent drafts in the web UI.
- Prefer org-owned interfaces so access is shared.
